UKCS - Decommissioning Cost Estimation Service

The UKCS is a mature basin and we are seeing an increase in the volume of decommissioning related work. We have undertaken a number of Decommissioning Cost Estimation projects for various clients across the UKCS who wish to gather accurate predictions of costs in preparation for projected Cessasation of Production (CoP).

Included in the scopes of work are detailed studies involving cost estimates of all scenarios that could be encountered, including:

Cost estimates must reflect the accuracy levels expected by the operators and their partners, but they must also satisfy regulatory bodies and shareholders that all cost estimating due diligence has been performed in line with the decommissioning arrangements between all stake holders. DCE projects require to be completed in line with the Abandonment and Decommissioning Guidelines issued by the OGUK.

We are currently building a comprehensive portfolio of DCE projects, having completed no fewer than 10 such projects in the last 6 years. These have included assessment of well decommissioning costs on multiple offshore platform and subsea assets for major North Sea operators, as well as DCE projects for a large number of land, swamp and offshore wells in Nigeria.
